Personal profile

Dr Gregory James is a Reader in Banking and Finance in the School of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Leicester Castle Business School, Faculty of Business and Law, ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ (˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿). Before joining ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ in 2016, Gregory was a Senior Lecturer in Economics in the School of Business and Economics, Loughborough University. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Leicester. 

Gregory's research interests are in the area of banking, corporate finance, financial economics, infrastructure and project finance, green finance, and FinTech. He is a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

Gregory has published articles in leading finance and economics journals, including Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Economic Inquiry, and Economics Letters.

 

Gregory's current research projects focus inter alia on the pricing of project finance deals, and the impact of green certification on US green bonds. He serves as an Associate Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies (Malaysian Economic Association) and is also an Editorial Board Member of the Global Finance Journal (Elsevier). 

Gregory is the Programme Leader of the MSc Finance and Banking and MSc Finance and Investment programmes at ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿. He has experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in banking, finance, investment, risk management, and insurance, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Gregory is a Professional Coach. He is a Corporate Member of the Association for Coaching. He holds a PG Cert in Professional Coaching, and coaches across the public and private sectors, focusing on performance, leadership, and career development.
