˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ Leicester (˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿) is set to open a new campus in London, training leaders in sustainable business practice.
The new facility, located at Whitechapel/Aldgate East, sits right in the heart of the city known worldwide as a central hub for business, leadership, finance and technology.
As the only university in the UK recognised by the United Nations (UN) as an Academic Impact Hub (UNAI), ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ has driven an ethical, environmental and empowering commitment through all its teaching and research – not only at its Leicester campus, but across its international campuses in Dubai, Kazakhstan, and Cambodia.
The new London campus will take this dedication further, offering postgraduate students a concentrated focus on sustainable practices through the launch of three UN-inspired programmes:
- MSc International Business and Sustainability Management
- MBA Global with Responsible Leadership
- MSc Responsible Data Analytics
Each programme will integrate sustainability into its teaching, aiming to equip professional managers and aspiring leaders with the skills to manage businesses ethically and lead with social responsibility, underpinned by ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿’s commitment to .
˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Katie Normington, said: "This expansion marks a pivotal moment for ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ as we reinforce our commitment to sustainability and educational innovation.
“For the first time, all staff at the new campus will undergo sustainability training, and Carbon Literacy will be integrated into the core curriculum for all students.
“We are empowering our students not only through classroom-based sustainability-focused learning but also through direct engagement with the UN, industry partnerships, internships, networking opportunities, and practical experiences within London's thriving business community.”
˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ London students will be taught under the university’s innovative block teaching model, which sees modules taught one at a time, rather than simultaneously, helping students balance life and studies. This also allows students to focus more fully on each area, concluding it with an assessment, before moving on to the next, providing faster, more comprehensive feedback at each point.
The university’s commitment to the SDGs, in particular sustainability, has most recently been recognised in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024, where ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ was ranked 101-200 in the world.
