Angela Davies, Senior Lecturer Textile Design, School of Fashion and Textiles, ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿.
Dr Angela Davies is a senior lecturer in textile technology/garment technology, with a BSc (Hons) in Clothing Design and Production and a PhD in technical textiles. Her PhD focused on the development of reusable incontinence products for residential and hospital use, which provides her with a wealth of expertise in the development and testing of medical textiles, requiring high temperature laundering for infection control.
Dr Davies has been principal and co-investigator on a number of regionally and European funded projects, working with technical textile and pharmaceutical SMEs and larger enterprises to support the development of new products and processes. This has involved the development and undertaking of product performance and textile testing of fibres, yarns, fabrics and end products. Her research interests include medical/ healthcare textiles, performance textiles, wearable technologies and product performance.
Programme leader for MSc Textile Design, Technology and Innovation, Dr Davies teaches across 4 programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Key areas of teaching include- product performance and quality control- textile testing, textile innovation, and textile sustainability. She undertakes supervision of undergraduate dissertations, MSc and MA dissertations and PhD student supervision.
