Join us to hear from Professor of Education Leanne de Main for her inaugural professorial lecture Knowing Your Place: Class betrayal, escapee guilt and a pint of lager please! Class has united and divided Britain for centuries and is widely accepted as a British fact of life. Leanne will share her research on the working class, frequently demonised, and often voiceless in their attempts to shift perceptions. In this lecture, Leanne will share aspects of her personal experiences and reflections bridging the class divide and attempting to identify a sense of place, whilst also using her state of limbo to support students with “ideas above their station”
A drinks reception will follow after the lecture.
Ticket sales will close 1 hour before the event starts.
