"The careers team are always ready to help - this was especially important to me, as the labour market is so competitive. They helped me form my CV, which led to job interviews, which then led to a graduate job. They were 100 per cent there throughout the whole journey."

A fast-paced professional world requires graduates to be agile and flexible and we are here to support you at key moments in your career. In the UK the majority of graduate jobs do not require a specific degree, which means many doors are open to you and a focus on continuous skill development is essential throughout your professional life.
After graduating from ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ with my degree in English Literature, I prepared to start the next chapter in my life. Like many other grads, however, this proved more of a struggle than I’d first expected, with the pandemic putting a pause over everyone’s plans.
But with the help of ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ and the Graduate Champions programme, I was accepted for an internship as an Editorial Associate at Cross Productions. Sourcing, crafting and editing content for Cross Productions and its Niche Magazine, blog and other publications hasn’t just been exciting, it’s been an invaluable opportunity for me to test my writer’s voice and gain confidence during tough times. I'm very thankful for the experience.
We regularly welcome our graduates back on to campus to attend our network events, allowing our current students to draw on the experience of ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ graduates who now work in industry. Events like these are hugely popular with students and graduates alike, providing the opportunity to support the next generation of ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ graduates take their first steps in to the professional word.
"It was a pleasure to attend the BAL Network Event. I have had lots of questions from students following the event, which is great for both," he said. "I'm glad I can give something back."
