˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ has launched its third annual awards to celebrate staff and students who are going the extra mile for sustainability at the university.
˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿’s Climate Action Awards will take place as part of our showcase of events to mark the United Nations talks on climate change, COP 29, taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11-22 November 2024.
The awards will celebrate and recognise the efforts and commitment of staff and students across the university to sustainability, climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a bespoke awards ceremony in November.
The awards event will take place on the Friday 22 November, the final day of COP 29, from 5-7pm in the UNAI Global Impact Hub, Heritage House 2.05. A buffet and drinks will be served.
COP 29 @ ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ is part of ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿’s Sustainability Campus Collective and all staff and students are encouraged to take part in the awards by submitting any work they have undertaken through research, teaching and campus activity in the pursuit of acting to reduce global warming and improve the environment.
Associate Director of the SDG Impact Hub, Dr Mark Charlton, said: “These awards are about recognising the efforts staff and students are making through their efforts and innovations. We are really interested in what people are doing to share best practice and encourage others to get involved.
