Facilities and membership

At ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿, we are proud to offer exceptional sports facilities that enhance our students' experience. The university has made significant investments in recent years, totalling millions of pounds, to provide state-of-the-art amenities such as the £8 million Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre, the £1 million Watershed facility, and the development of FA standard grass and artificial pitches for outdoor sports at the £2 million Beaumont Park.

Memberships

If you would like to join one or more of ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿sport's numerous sports teams, you will need to purchase a specific membership for that club. All student activity memberships are managed by De Montfort Students Union. You can find out more about our clubs and how to purchase a club membership.

Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre

The QEII Leisure Centre provides our students, staff and the general public with state-of-the-art facilities including a 25 metre swimming pool, climbing wall, eight badminton court sports hall, fitness suite and dance studio. A comprehensive programme of workout classes are also held at the centre, catering for all fitness levels and interests. There are a range of membership and pay as you go options available to students, staff and the general public.

Opening times: Monday to Friday, 6.30am-10pm | Saturday, 8am-8pm | Sunday, 9am-8pm


The Watershed Facility

The Watershed Facility is home to the ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿sport department, cardio suite, outside launch area for watersports and the Strength and Conditioning suite which is home to our dedicated and qualified strength and conditioning coaches.

Situated on Liberty Island, just off campus, the university has invested in this facility to offer additional space for ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿’s student activities including sports club and societies.

With studios, classroom spaces and a multi-purpose sports hall, the spaces meet students’ needs and provide an ideal venue for events. The facility also hosts training sessions for ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿sport clubs, Social League matches and ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿active sessions on a regular basis too. 


Beaumont Park

Beaumont Park is situated on the outskirts of Leicester and has recently seen £2.5million of investment on developing changing rooms, club house and new pitches. Outdoor sports take place at this venue including American Football, Football, Lacrosse and Rugby.

Club training sessions, fixtures and friendlies all take place at this venue which is popular amongst students. Community and student tournaments have also taken place here along with numerous charity events supported by the student body.

For organised ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿sport activity that takes place beyond a three mile walking radius from Campus Centre, student transport is provided.
