#˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿Pride: Unorthodox

In modern Britain, what does it mean to be queer and religious? Séan Richardson led a talk on this subject at ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ on 2020 as part of #˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿Pride His book Unorthodox  tells the stories of LGBT+ people of faith. Bringing together artists, activists, religious leaders, community workers and writers, the book explores how LGBT+ Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus and Sikhs navigate their faith, why they stay and what it means to believe. Séan is an academic, curator and writer based in Nottingham whose writing tackles the lasting resonances of queer history in contemporary society through literature and heritage.

I want to find a church

When they come to ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿, many students are too far away from their old church to be able to continue attending. Other students have no church but would like to attend one.  Staff can help you find a church that’s a good fit for you. Please contact our Anglican Christian Volunteer Faith Adviser FR Johannes Arens for advice.

I want to find a society

Several faith and belief societies are run by fellow ˽·¿¾ãÀÖ²¿ students. Visit the  to browse societies. If you can't find what you are looking for, contact DSU Activities Team at activities@dmu.ac.uk and they will be happy to help you start your own society.
