School of Engineering and Sustainable Development courses

The school has a wide portfolio of undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses, from state of the art mainstream engineering programmes  to specialist courses focussing on energy and sustainability. A number of our courses are fully accredited by engineering professional bodies including the Institute of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, CIBSE and the Energy Institute as part of the route to full professional registration as a Chartered Engineer.

It is possible to undertake an industrial placement with all of our courses, undergraduate and postgraduate.

Our one-year Engineering Year Zero course provides a route to a degree in engineering for applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements for our degree courses: this could be those without a background in STEM subjects or who have significant industrial experience but limited formal qualifications in the discipline. Successful completion of our Year Zero course will qualify for entry to any of our undergraduate engineering degree programmes.
